In at Darden!

For over 2 years I have read blog postings after blog postings on applicants excitedly sharing the results of their Hard work. "I am in", "I got the call", "my status changed..."
I always wondered when my time would come and how it would be like.
My time has come.

I am in at DARDEN

It is yet to sink in though. I was expecting this call but still feel a state of inertia on the celeberation front. Today I got my mailed offer letters, I browsed the incoming student website, i have joined the discussion and the realisation is beginning to sink in. Few months from now I will be back in school.

However, I am still awaiting Duke and Harvard results and of course waiting on the Tuck waitlist. I will withdraw from Tepper(Waitlisted for the Second time)

Finally i would like to say or rather shout"yuuuhoooooo I am in, I am in!!"

P.S> I can't believe that I don't have to write anymore essays. It was was becoming second nature like eating or sleeping

Hey Anand..my congratulations on your Darden admission. This does seem very well-deserved after a long & painful waiting period.

Need some advice from you desperately as Im finding myself in a similar situation (or worse!)as you were in 2 years back. I gave my GMAT last week & got 700 (92% percentile ; Quant - 46 (80) & Verbal 40 (90). AWA score is still awaited.Am neither too happy nor too sad with my score & know that a long battle awaits ahead. Am really looking at getting into a very good Bschool (not necessarily ivyleague) either in the US or UK in 2008 (as im just tooo late for 2007). Specialisation will be in finance. I have completed my chartered accountancy & have 3+ yrs of experience in finance & management. Do you think I stand a chance with a 700 score or is it best to rewrite? I know applications are really important but how do I make them compensate for a not-so-great score. I know u went through this dilemma some time back - any pointers from anyone would really really help..

Thanks so much..

I think with a 700 score you do not need to re-write, you can target the top b-schools (ivy leagur)i.e. if you think you are very competitive in other areas. I got waitlisted at Tuck and I have a 700 score. You have good distribution and are not in the Indian IT pool. You must consider your overall application strength. If you feel you can significantly improve your score and make your application even stronger, then you may consider re-writing. However i still feel that effort is well spent in other areas. feel free to mail me if you have more questions - beyond.d.realms@gmail.com
