I had all but settled for the final ding but instead I got a waitlist. This is Cruel. You would think that waitlist is one better than a reject but I am not too sure.
I do intend to stay on the waitlist and would appreciate if folks and provide me with strategy or comments to make the most of the oppurtunity.
Past couple of months and post application submission, I have managed to get rated in the 'best lot' in our annual appraisal cycle and also rewared with a promotion. These things I can definetly add as supplement to my application. What is the best form - e-mail note or doc with details?
Waitlist decisions are out only by June which would definetly cause me problems in terms of finances and Visa. So I am also contemplating dropping out and doing this all over next year.
hmmm why couldn't they just...

Anand,
Have you asked for feedback from the schools that did not accept you this year?
That type of information is valuable and will help pinpoint potential weaknesses in your application.
From there, you can strengthen your application next time. If you want to submit a LETTER to Tepper, briefly appease any areas that might be of concern and wrap up the letter by highlighting two strengths and your passion for Tepper.
Keep us posted on what you decide.

Ouch. You are definitely in a tough spot. I would for sure submit all your additional information. Maybe do it via a letter and also give AdCom a call to discuss. Is there a way that someone at work could write another recomendation noting your accomplishments? The timeline is tight, but its possible you would know before June!!! Best of luck.
Anand - oh wow... well the waitlist definitely gives you hope that you may very well be going this year! Hang in there! See you in Bangalore.
Best,
MBA Cutie
Sorry to hear that Anand. I understand that this is not the best of situations. I got waitlisted too - at Kellogg - bummer.
Sorry to hear that Anand. I understand how that feels. Just got waitlisted at Kellogg myself. Good luck with everything.
Waitlists are painful but they offer a pretty decent window of opportunity. Your recent achievements at work would definitely help your case. I would think that another letter of support from an alum would do wonders. As far as Visa issues go (for June decisions), I was told by Thomas Caleel of Wharton (on a waitlist chat) that the schools consider that problem and do their best to help out applicants... in the worst case, they even offer a deferred admission. So definitely don't drop out of the waitlist process. Good luck Anand!
Congrats man
You will def make it..May be tepper was just checking to see if u havent got admit else where..
Tepper has an active indian community(MBA) ..contact them for an advice
Cheers

Hang on in there dude! Yeah, we shout definitely have a MBA Blogger meet in B'lore
I know it feels terrible coz I'm in it too. But dont lose hope. This is your second chance to sell yourself. You might just be in.
As for suggestions, you may like to read my post at http://bschooltravel.blogspot.com/ 2006/02/so-youve-been-waitlisted-too.html
Thanks for the comments and Suggestions. Regarding feedback - tepper doesnt offer that till about may-june. Same with other schools. I do plan to send in additional information. Not sure if I should send in another Letter of Recommendation.
Sorry to hear that but all is not lost. Good luck.
Send another Reco if that adds another dimension which is not addressed in your previous Recos. If you know a student in Tepper very well, then ask him/her to write a reco.
Anand,
Don't give up! It's better than a ding.

That is very kind of you Anand. I really do appreciate it. I'm sure it will all work out for you too in the end. I've followed your blog since the beginning and I think your heart is in the right place - which is what matters after all. Good luck.
